Who can get it
- Woman head of family on the ration card — one per card
- Born before 15.09.2002 (21+)
- Family income under ₹2.5 lakh a year
- Under 5 acres wet land / 10 acres dry land
- Household electricity under 3,600 units a year
Who cannot
- Income-tax or professional-tax payers
- Govt / PSU / bank / board / local body / co-op employees and pensioners
- Elected representatives (except ward members)
- Families owning a four-wheeler
- GST turnover above ₹50 lakh
- Those already getting a social-security or govt pension (with some exceptions)

How to apply

- Follow official announcements for new application camps
- If you get a rejection SMS, appeal via an e-Sevai centre to the RDO within 30 days

Under Tamil Nadu’s Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai, the woman head of family gets ₹1,000 a month straight into her bank account — one per ration card. Family income must be under ₹2.5 lakh a year, and no income certificate is needed. If your application is rejected, you can appeal within 30 days of the SMS.
What if I’m rejected?
Within 30 days of the rejection SMS, file an appeal at your nearest e-Sevai centre; it goes to the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO). If the reason is wrong, attach the document that shows it.
